Studio Co-Director, Performance Coach
Tim Hayes
Tim collaborates with Michelle to select, conceive, and develop creative material for the studio and serves as performance coach & oracle for the Ensemble Dance Team. He is an honors alum of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts' Film and Television program and has written and staged four memorable productions in the Scituate public schools. He spends much of his time in Los Angeles working on several music-and-dance-related film projects currently in pre-production/production. In addition, Tim is eternally honored by his role as assistant choreographer and spiritual & counting advisor for the Fun Fathers Dance Gang -- the "2007 National" and "2010 World" Parent Champions!
by the high level of personal care. Michelle and Tim reside in Scituate with their five growing children. The 2011-2012 season marks their twentieth year working with South Shore youth to create joy and excitement in the community. They believe in making magic happen!
Michelle, as Studio Director, writes and directs the curriculum for all classes at all levels, and oversees the progress of all Dance Carousel students. She received training at the Philadelphia College of Performing Arts and is a member of Dance Masters of America, Past President, Past Vice-President and Past Secretary of the Greater Brockton Dance Teachers' Association, and current co-Chairwoman of the Dance Education Training Course of the Dance Teachers' Club of Boston, where, for ten years, she has played a key role in training hundreds of future dance educators throughout New England; in addition, she serves on the DTCB Board of Directors. Michelle is also Dance Carousel's esteemed Principal Choreographer, winning innumerable awards and accolades regionally and nationally for her highly imaginative, entertaining work -- including a staggering seven Outstanding Choreography citations at the 2008 StarQuest World Finals in Long Beach, California, and many American Dance Awards Diamond Choreography Awards; as well as choreographing independently for a variety of theatre and athletic organizations; and taking on her new role as

Scituate High School Varsity Football & Basketball Cheerleading Coach. Michelle has received the Carol Miller Award, for upholding the highest standards of Choreography and Teaching, and the Destination Broadway Award, presented by acclaimed Broadway musical director Michael Rafter, for outstanding efforts to develop young talent.
